EIU Statement -- April 5, 2023

Eastern Illinois University is aware that the University Professionals of Illinois, Local 4100, IFT-AFT (UPI) – the Union representing full-time faculty, lecturers and other UPI-represented staff – intend to initiate their right to strike beginning Thursday morning, April 6.

The University remains committed to reaching a good-faith resolution that sensibly balances its employees’ needs with the opportunity, accessibility, and quality education all EIU 麻豆传媒 and families have come to expect. EIU looks forward to resuming negotiations at a previously scheduled bargaining session Friday, April 7.

As the University continues to work toward a mutual resolution, please know contingencies are in place for ensuring current 麻豆传媒 complete the Spring 2023 semester and graduate on time. Students can find additional resources here.
