NSFP Position: Graduate Assistant
This position is a 12 month contract and is offered as a two year assistantship. Please note: you must be in Charleston and able to start on July 1, as this is the first day of the contract.
Description:
Coordinate the orientation, transition and retention programming for nearly 1,000 new Âé¶¹´«Ã½ and their families annually, as well as execute programming to help Âé¶¹´«Ã½ feel welcomed and acclimated to campus.
Responsibilities may include:
- The development and implementation of staff recruitment, selection, and training for 50+ Âé¶¹´«Ã½ annually
- Facilitating prospective student events and programs
- Collaborating on family engagement intiatives
- Development and facilitation of orientation, transition, and retention programs
- Facilitating leadership programs
- Planning and executing large-scale events throughout the school year
- Marketing and publication development
- Supervising staff
Preferred Qualifications for Assistantship:
- Undergraduate experience in orientation, first year experience, admissions, and/or peer mentorship
- Strong experience in student leadership positions (orientation leader/coordinator, peer mentor, student activities, residence life, Greek Life, etc.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks
